My understanding of diplomacy today

At the beginning of this module, my perception about diplomacy was narrowed only to bilateral diplomacy. I had assumed that diplomacy was conducted by only resident ambassadors to promote bilateral relations between the countries they represent. The lectures I have received from the module leader and my further reading on diplomacy has broadened my knowledge on diplomacy. I am very confident now to explain other types of diplomacy such as multilateral, public and summit and the roles each plays in contemporary world today to a first year student.
